Assessment of Learning procedures are carried out at the
Educational Assessment Unit (EAU).
Mission Statement
The Educational Assessment Unit aims to provide, develop and implement fair and valid assessment practices for all learners. It also aims to guide and support schools in all their requirements regarding assessment procedures.
Summary of work done at the Educational Assessment Unit
The Educational Assessment Unit (EAU) has the following focal areas under its remit:
– Assessment for Learning
– Assessment of Learning (including Annual Examination Papers & Secondary School Certificate and Profile)
– International Studies
The EAU also provides training and development for professionals in the education sector who would like to be more proficient in the field of
assessment. It provides ongoing support to schools, parents and students with issues related to examinations and assessment procedures. It also takes care of the maintenance and updating of the Curriculum website.
The work done in these areas contributes towards strengthening of formative and summative assessment practices in Primary, Middle and Secondary schools in Malta and Gozo.
