The following teacher resource packs incorporate released
questions in reading, mathematics and science literacy used in the following
international studies: PISA, TIMSS, ICCS (for secondary schools) and PIRLS (for
primary schools).
These resource packs present different ways of measuring
students’ understanding in various content and cognitive domains. Teachers are
also encouraged to model other questions according to their students’ needs and
levels of ability. However, these packs are not intended to
coach the students for the test but to familiarise themselves with the types and
styles of the items.
This teaching material follows other
information sources published by International Association for the
Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) and the Research and Development
Department, Ministry for Education and Employment. Data and information has
also been disseminated particularly through the Malta Reports, dissemination
workshops (May – July 2013), as well as through meetings and training seminars
for School Coordinators and Test Administrators.
