TIMSS

TIMSS

The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) is an international assessment of the mathematics and science knowledge of 4th and 8th grade students around the world (equivalent to Year 5 and Year 9 respectively in Malta). TIMSS was developed by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) to allow participating nations to compare students' educational achievement across borders. TIMSS was first administered in 1995, and every 4 years thereafter.
Malta has participated in TIMSS 2007 and TIMSS 2015 with Year 9 students and in TIMSS 2011 and TIMSS 2019 with Year 5 students. Malta will also be participating in TIMSS 2023 with Year 9 students.
