The Teaching
and Learning International Survey (TALIS), administered by the Organization for Economic Cooperation
and Development (OECD), focuses
on the learning environment and the working conditions of teachers in schools.
TALIS fills important information gaps in the international
comparisons of education systems and offers an opportunity for teachers and
Heads of School to provide input into education analysis and policy development
in key policy areas. It also allows countries to identify with other countries
facing similar challenges to them, and to learn from their policy approaches.
TALIS has been administered three times: in 2008, in 2013 and in
2018. Malta has participated in 2008 and in 2018. Preparations are currently underway for Malta's participation in TALIS 2024.
